4-H Seeking Project Judges
On Saturday, April 22, a judge’s training will be held at the Adams County Fairgrounds in Brighton for those individuals that are interested in judging general and home economics projects for the 4-H program. Several areas will be covered including: baking, breads, cake decorating, ceramics, clothing, cooking, creative clothing, creative cooks, fashion revue, foods, heritage arts, leathercraft, photography, and vet science. Extension agents and trained volunteers from Colorado State University Extension will conduct the specific training for each area. Participants will be able to choose an area of interest during each of the two sessions offered.
The training will educate attendees on 4-H judging standards. After completing the training, participants will have the option to be added to a statewide certified judge’s list that makes them eligible to judge at different county fairs throughout the state. And, not only will they have the opportunity to share their expertise with youth, they will also have the chance to make some extra cash judging at the county or state level. The training will begin with registration at 8:00 a.m., followed by record book and project judges training.
Attached is a registration form and flyer. Please use these attachments as you see fit in your county/area. We hope to really spread the word and expand the judging pool for everyone.
For further information or if you have questions, please contact Kyrei Zion at 720.733.6940. Registration is due to the Douglas County Extension office by Friday, April 7, 2006. — Ellen Butler
